Yesteryear Actor Balaiah No Extra


Veteran producer, director, screenplay author and actor Mannava Balaiah handed away on Saturday morning, that occurred to be his 92nd birthday at his Yousufguda house in Hyderabad.

Balaiah debuted with Etthuku Pai Ethu in 1958 in a lead position and subsequently did vital character roles in movies like Parvathi Kalyanam, Irugu Porugu, Bobbili Yuddham, Pandava Vanavasam, Monagaalaku Mongaadu, Sri Krishna Pandaveeyam, Vikramarka Vijayam, Alluri Sitaramaraju, Prana Snehitulu, Annamayya, Pelli Sandadi, Malleeswari, Sri Ramarajyam and plenty of extra. He portrayed and excelled within the aged roles and his repertoire as an actor expanded to almost 300 movies.

Born in Guntur district , he did Mechanical Engineering at Guindy Engineering School, Chennai, and saved his ardour for performing alive by collaborating in theatre in faculty. After getting into movies, he diversified his position from performing to story writing and produced profitable movies like Chelleli Kapuram with Shoban Babu, Neramu Siksha with Krishna. Chuttalunnaru jagratha and Oorikichina Maata with Chiranjeevi.

Balaiah proved his mettle as a director with movies like Pasupu Thaadu, Nijam Chebite Nerama, Policu Alludu and extra. He obtained Golden Nandi for the Greatest Movie for Chelleli Kapuram.

Balaiah will likely be remembered for the dignity and charm that he delivered to his characters together with his subdued performing.
